Seven things I know about my paternal grandmother:

1. She was quiet.
2. She kept the books for the family record store.
3. Depending on who you ask, she suffered either from bipolar disorder, or postpartum depression.
4. She kept excellent cookies in her cupboard (to my 4-year old tastes).
5. As a kid, it was Yiddish at home, English at school.
6. The first time she gave birth, she found out she was having twins between the first baby and the very-soon-to-follow second one.
7. She was prone to fungus.
